Discover Conservation in Action
Matching our passion for exploring with a commitment to action, Explora developed the Torres Del Paine Conservation Reserve to protect this fragile territory and restore damaged areas. Created in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy, this legally protected area features a funding structure that guarantees its conservation in perpetuity. This project is sustained by members who are invited to play a crucial role in protecting and preserving this special Patagonian treasure with an exclusive opportunity to own protected land.
Why Act Now
Prevent Further Decline of Wild Species In Chile, 94 percent of the species have declined and more than 60 percent are classified as threatened.
Create a Meaningful Investment Opportunity
The cost per hectare in protected areas of Chile is US $1.2 dollars, one of the lowest in the world.
Preserve Iconic Landscapes & Grasslands In Patagonia, 65 percent of its grasslands are highly degraded, with 33 percent of the damage irreversible.
The Impact of Our Efforts
The reserve was previously used as a cattle ranch, which restricted native wildlife and led to puma hunting to protect the livestock. Visitors were not permitted and there were no established trails or paths. Over the past years, we have relocated the cattle, removed nearly 19 miles (30 kilometers) of fencing, and continued cleanup and rewilding efforts, encouraging wildlife to return.
Pumas now roam freely, supporting a balanced ecosystem alongside native scavengers. Regenerative livestock projects promote healthy flora growth, which has benefited our reforestation efforts and now boasts more than 30,000 lenga and ñirre plantings.
Guests and members can also take advantage of abundant and truly remote self-guided trails, now open to the general public and complete with educational signage and maps.
